2019 Real Weddings - Deirdre & Patrick
We would like to share with you the wedding of Deirde and Patrick. They celebrated their big day at Ballyvoylane House. Stunning wedding photography by Into The Light. Their wedding was filled with so many floral delights! Deirdre wore our Alisha Earrings beautifully and her hairstyle is just fabulous, what do you think?
Deirdre and Patrick met in their first year of college through mutual friends. After College they moved to Melbourne together for three years before returning to Ireland.
Patrick originally planned a day out on Deirdre's dad's boat, but had to go for plan B as there was a problem with the boat. After getting the Ferry to Dalkey island and a having a picnic, Patrick was produced a glass bottle, which he unconvincingly claimed to have found on the ground! Inside there was a piece of paper which read, 'Will you marry me?".
They really wanted their wedding to be relaxed and fun and for their guests to enjoy it as much as them. Patrick's neighbours made a sentiment step ladder, which the couple used to display photographs of their late grandparents and placed at the entrance to the ceremony space.
They chose soft summer colours and lots of flowery foliage, which tied in perfectly with the green bridesmaids dresses and surroundings. Deirde and Patrick could not compliment Ballyvolane House, they loved the surroundings and natural romantic elements.
The day was full of fun elements and one moment got everyone laughing when they cut their wedding cake with a sword. 'Deirdre's advice for brides and grooms-to-be is to leave room in your wedding timeline for relaxing with friends and family, and appreciating all the hard work that you've put in. "Take as many little moments as you can during the day to step back and take it all in, because it goes by so fast!"'
They felt blessed with such good weather and a relaxed atmosphere. Deirdre and Patrick went to Greece for a week-long honeymoon after the wedding.
