At Cuban weddings it's all about the dress, the bigger the better, lots of ruffles and a full skirt would be the traditional style displayed. Family and friends gather enroute to the ceremony and parade, playing music and dancing. As these ceremonies can get quite extravagant, it has become tradition that anyone who dances with the bride also pins money to her dress to pay for their honeymoon, this is called the money dance.

Indian weddings are superbly colourful and intricately detailed. With many rituals and pre-ceremonies before the actual event has even gotten underway. The traditional engagement ceremony takes place whereby the bride and groom exchange rings and the families exchange gifts and sweets. As often seen the brides palms, wrists and feet are decorated in advance of the ceremony - this is known as Mehendi. At the wedding the Ver Mala Ceremony takes place, this is where the bride and groom place flower garlands over each others heads to show the bride has accepted the groom.

In the Czech Republic the brides friends will plant a tree in her garden and according to the legend the bride will live as long as the tree. The tree is decorated with ribbons and egg shells. Before the vows a baby is placed in the couples bed to bless their fertility. The bride is given three dishes to promote fertility, wheat for fertility, millet for patience and a sparrow is placed under one of the lids. At the wedding the guests dance around the bride and they remove her veil and put a Babushka in its place.

Welsh weddings are definitely fun events, in Wales the story goes that if a man carves a spoon out of wood and gives it to the woman he loves and if she wore it they would be wed. Often brides are kidnapped by their own family and the fiance's family try to and find her and whoever finds the bride is next in line to get married.Welsh brides carry Myrtle in their bouquet and give the bridesmaids flowers from the bouquet and according to Welsh tradition if she then plants it in her garden she will be next in line to marry.
